Charlton Campbell Monthly Report:

October 25, 2009

A note from Charlton Campbell’s granddaughter:

Hello –

As always, let me begin with a huge THANK YOU for everything you have done to help get my Grandfather to and from dialysis.  Without your help, I do not know how we would be able to do it.

Having said that, I am again asking for help in November to get him to and from dialysis.  If you have time and would like to help, please log on and sign up for times that are convenient for you.  I have included the login information below. If you have already signed up in November, thank you so much for your help.

To access Charlton Campbell's personal CareCalendar site, visit  http://www.CareCalendar.org/logon/8974 and enter the following
information in the appropriate spaces:
     CALENDAR ID      :   8974
     SECURITY CODE :   1127

Please note that the week of Thanksgiving his schedule is slightly changed. The dates are right and I believe the times are right.  If they change, and you are signed up, I will let you know to make sure that it is still convenient for you.

Also, if you know of someone who would like to help but does not have an email address and/or internet access, they can call me at 919-412-8603 and I can work with them to see if there are any slots open that would be convenient to them.

Health wise, Granddaddy has had a good month.  He will need to have surgery soon to have a cataract removed.  I am not certain of the date of that yet.  Thank you again for everything you have done to help.  I really appreciate it.

Have a great day.

ANH GIBBS: TRULY THE HANDS AND FEET OF JESUS

September 2009

Hello Families and Friends,

For a long time I've thought about doing a long-distance walk to benefit the breast cancer cause, and this is the year when I finally say "NO MORE EXCUSES!"  Breast cancer has become too widespread and I can no longer continue to sit back without taking action!  I hope you'll join and support me in the fight.

On the weekend of October 24 and 25, 2009, I'll walk as one with a community of thousands in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Charlotte North Carolina.  I chose to walk the 40 miles Avon Walk event because I'm so impressed that the Avon Foundation addresses the whole picture:  medical research into the possible causes, prevention, treatment, and cure of breast cancer; clinical care for breast cancer patients; support services for patients and their families; educational seminars; and early detection programs. To learn more, please visit avonfoundation.org.

It's easy for you to join me – no walking involved!  Your tax-deductible donation will not only help me reach (and hopefully exceed!) my $1800 fundraising goal, It will also move us closer to the end of breast cancer.   To make a donation, just visit my fundraising page at http://www.avonwalk.org/goto/anh_gibbs.  Thank you so much for supporting my commitment.

Best regards,

Anh

P. S.  Anh doesn’t just walk the walk (Avon Walk that is), she also talks the talk and cooks the food!  In other words, her fundraising activities for good causes extend beyond the Avon Walk detailed above.

On three other Saturdays in October – the 10th, 17th, and 31st, Anh will be teaching introductory computer classes (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) at Amity.  On Saturday, November 7 she will be teaching “Basic Chinese Cooking.”  Proceeds from all classes will support the “Water for Life” mission trip that several Amity congregants are taking to the Dominican Republic during the week of Thanksgiving.  Go to www.amityumc.org to learn more about those opportunities.  Return to top
